Sabbatical ends...

It is safe to say we accomplished nothing on our house over the course of the summer. With winter approaching, we figured now was as good as time as any to get moving on some projects.

This weekend, our focus was on the vestibule and basement. After peeling two layers of vinyl tile, we were left with an ugly layer of VCT, but it should work as a sub-floor for new ceramic tile.

The second project was to get the basement walls sealed, but after doing one wall, the sealant fumes spread into both neighbors' houses and left all of us with a bad headache. We halted work until we can find a better alternative to the low-grade Depot stuff. We may also need some expert masonry work too.

Wow, good thing you rested up over the summer! I'm interested to see how that basement turns out, I also have a cinderblock disaster but ours is staying that way!

Your front door is probably the highlight of your place. It's painted with my fave color… and yes, it attracts me more than any other door does. I mean… It looks simple, but elegant! How's this door now? I apologize for talking a lot 'bout your door… I just couldn't resist looking at it on this page.

Looking at your new front door, I can say that you’ve made a great decision in renovating your doors. I hope things are going well at your place and I hope that this splendid door still looks new, even though it’s almost four years old. :)

After seeing all of these posts of people getting new front doors and new overhead doors. It makes me want to replace our new front door. Because it's starting to reach the end of it's life sadly to say.
